On October 31st 2017, man wandered around without no shoes, two knives in his hands, rope tied around his neck and word "LOLL" (stupid) written on his forehead in old town area and in city main square in Tallinn, Estonia.

Worried citizens informed police who tried to solve the situation leaving no one harmed. Police told to drop knives several times (heard on video) before man started running at two police officers.
Police made 3 quick warning shots then one into man torso at very close range.

Ambulance arrived in minutes and CPR was performed who rushed to the hospital where man was pronounced dead later that day.

Man was later confirmed as Jaanus Käärmann, who had become mentally ill recently. He worked in IT as a developer and had graduated York University in England (masters degree), he was also brother to K. Käärmann who is shareholder and founding member of TransferWise (money trading company).

In Estonia police do not have tasers and this killing has already started a debate whether to take them in use or not. Most of the public approved police reaction to the attack as an officer self-defense. Estonian police is obligated to use firearm on a close range knife attack.
